 "Eat my Garden" for kids is designed to satisfy kids’ natural craving for learning and playing with soil and seeds, plants and caterpillars, tasting and exploring, cooking and eating wholesome foods…  (not the caterpillars!)     

All this happens while we watch the fruits of our garden creations spring forth !

“Eat my Garden” organic gardening, tasting and cooking inspires:~  

• Growing plants and positive experiences to support confidence and personality development
• Connecting with and learning about the world around us
• Creating and exploring how we can eat our plants, while cooking  or tasting food with our chef !

A permanent program offers:

• Regular weekly tuition program during term
• School holiday programs on request
  
• Quality tutors who know food and are enthusiastic about sharing their skills and passion with others!
  
• Superb all weather facilities at the historic Fullarton Park Centre, of Unley City

“Eat my Garden” also believes in growing with you to help turn the dream of an edible garden into reality…  To do this we offer our services to households, schools, businesses and care centres for:-

• Consultation, construction, tuition of edible or kitchen gardens
• Support for maintenance and development of gardens
• Tuition for cooking and gardening
• Eat my Garden branch development, to expand with demand.

Our origins….

Inspired by working with children, farmers and chefs, “Eat my Garden” goes ‘beyond gourmet’…. looking to the source before making the sauces.  Connecting environment (water, soil, air, energy, ecology) with the lifecycles of plants, people, organic qualities, and of course the foods and eating !

Three years in the making, “Eat my Garden” kids program has drawn from twelve years experience and proven examples with children, from France and Australia, all aiming to satisfy the senses and make fresh food gardening and eating a lifelong passion !

We do this organically…  applying international organic standards, to make it as healthy as possible, for you and our planet.

Latarnie McDonald (yes that’s right, Old McDonald’s daughter!) is the founder and tuition leader.  She draws from many years of experience direct from the farm as well as a strong background in organic food , production, science and education.

Simon Bryant (ala TV's The Cook and the Chef) openned Latarnie's children's garden at the The Adelaide Showground Farmers Market in June which is a great hit with children and adults alike.  Simon uses fresh produce from the garden for his cooking demonstrations and indeed has his own home kitchen garden!
